AB 2222 (Nazarian)

Housing density bonus.

2014

Description:

Current law relating to the development of low income housing units requires continued affordability for 30 years or longer, as specified, of all very low and low-income units that qualified an applicant for a density bonus. This bill would provide that a density bonus is not allowed where a project results in a net loss of affordable units. This bill would also require continued affordability for 55 years or longer, as specified, of all very low and low-income rental units that qualified an applicant for a density bonus. This bill would also include very low and low-income persons among the initial occupants of for-sale units.
