Representatives from a number of statewide housing groups will sit down Tuesday with the new Chair of the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee, at his invitation. The meeting with Senator Jim Beall (D-San Jose) will likely touch on the group’s top priorities on housing, tenants’ rights and homelessness.
Brown has $24M stashed away for a future ballot measure, a record high approval rating and a budget balanced in part from voter-approved taxes that will expire in 2016 and 2018 (which, BTW, voters say they might be willing to support again). Wonder where Brown, whose fourth and final term ends in 2018, plans to spend his money?
